Stanley to Minot

Saturday, June 24, 2000

Today we traveled 55 miles from Stanley ND to Minot ND. We left early, around 8:20 AM and headed east on highway 2. The scenery was almost the same as the previous day, however we did see lots of small farm ponds.

Green fields and a lake

Just before we reached Minot, we traveled down a valley between two hills. Today the highway was much more flat and we also had a tail wind. Therefore, we were in Minot by 12:15 PM. We tried to get a room at a Comfort Inn but the inn was full. Next we found a bicycle shop and had the rear wheel trued. It was just slightly out of round and the break was dragging on the rim at the point where the rim was not true.

Mary Kay just got done doing laundry in the bathroom sink. The only problem with this method of laundry is that I must ring out every piece of clothing. We then had a good Mexican dinner. Mary Kay was very glad not to have fish again. Once again it started to rain after we returned to our motel room.
