Grand Rapids, MN Rest Day

Today was a rest day. The bad news is that Becky is going back to Washington State because her husband, Dave, at home, crashed his bicycle last night and is in the hospital. We found out this morning when we turned on our cell phone and found two messages waiting for us. We ate a very good breakfast at the motel and then waited until Becky found out what had happened to Dave. About 10:00 we got on our bicycle and headed downtown where we again stopped at the tourist information office and made motel reservations for Sunday night. We then we spent an hour shopping and then ate lunch. Mary Kay and I went to the Grand Rapids library where we got on the Internet, read all of our e-mails and checked our financial accounts, etc. We then went back to our motel where we found out that Becky was going to be going back to Washington State. After Becky was able to make all the arrangements to fly out of Grand Rapids tomorrow morning, and to have her bicycle shipped back, we all want to the Ground Round for an excellent supper as we said Good-by to one of our cycling companions. If all goes well she may be able to join us further down the line.
