Today was a very long hard day. We all met for breakfast at the Café in Winnett, the food was great and we were ready to ride at 7:30. The sky looked like rain and it was a little cooler then other mornings. There also was little or no wind. We had a great two hours traveling up and down hills, before the wind decided to join us. Once again it was to our front or side most of the time, and it seemed to work against us rather then for us.
After about 40 miles George came up behinds us and said our back tire looked low. We thought it was O.K. but decided to check it and it was flat. We stopped and changed the back tire, and by then you could hear the thunder and see the lightening. We got on the bike and started up and down the hills as fast as we could. About 4 miles later we came to Sands Springs, the rest of the group was already inside buying snack food for lunch. Just as we arrived it really started raining hard. We sat around and ate, talked, for a couple of hours and when the rain let up we got on our bicycles started out for Jordan we had some rain, at first, but soon we had mainly wind. We arrived in Jordan after 4:00 PM after showers, we walked back up the road about 8 blocks to the only restaurant in town. We had a supper then returned to the motel room via the grocery store. We are all tired and will be in bed early tonight.
