After yesterday's fight with the wind, today was a very easy day. When we started at 7:30 AM, the wind was completely calm. We headed east until we reached South Dakota highway 216 and then we headed south. The road was very flat, we did very little up and down travel so we clipped along at 13 to 18 miles per hour almost all the time. After 28 miles we stopped at Armour, and ate breakfast since we ate a very limited continental breakfast at the motel.
When we arrived at the motel at 11:30 AM, we unloaded the bicycle and then Jim retrieved a package at the front desk that had new disk brake caliper housing and everything necessary to bleed the brake lines of air. Scott helped Jim replace the damaged disk brake caliper housing. It took about two hours to accomplish this since the new housing had to be adjusted so that the brake disk was centered in the caliper housing. Without riding the bicycle, it appears that everything is in adjustment and ready to be used.
After the women finished washing the clothes we walked across the street for ice-cream, followed by rest time, swimming and hot tub. At 5:00 six of us are going to catch a shuttle out to a Casino for supper. Jan & Ken are going to try the Pizza place next door. This has been a great half-day rest day and we all feel better then we did this time last night.
