Leadville, CO - Rest Day

June 26, 2006

Today we ate a continental breakfast at our motel, before we walked a mile into downtown Leadville. We arrived in time to ride on the Leadville Colorado and Southern Railroad. It was a fantastic ride and Jim only took 45 pictures. The ride covered 11.5 miles of track and we want up and back, the ride took 2 ½ hours.

It was great to look down at the road we had cycled the road before.

We got back to Leadville around 12:30, ate lunch and then visited the National Mining Hall of Fame Museum. They had excellent displays of working in the mines and samples of all the materials we use every day that come to us from mines. The museum covers lots of mines from all over the world including those of ancient times.

We then walked back to our motel and prepared to ride tomorrow.
