Bicycling Montana, Wyoming,
Colorado and New Mexico - 2006

Cody, WY Rest Day

June 13, 2006

We slept in until we were awakened by what sounded like some one turning on an amplifier for some type of musical instrument. The sound was very loud and it sounded like the amplifier was broke. We got dressed ate a donut provided by the hotel and headed for some sight seeing. We bought tickets for a trolley ride which included entrance to the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum complex. We then walked to the museum and spent an hour looking around before we got on the trolley for their tour. We saw just about everything there was to see in Cody including the Buffalo Bill Cody Dam and the local Wal-Mart Super Center. We returned to the museum and finished looking at the great exhibits. There was a good section on western art.

We then walked back toward our Motel but detoured up the bluff to get a battery for Mary Kay's bicycle computer. We then walked back down the bluff (which we will need to ride up on our bicycle tomorrow morning) and returned to the motel for some rest.

At 5:30 we walked to a Mexican restaurant and then on down the street for ice-cream, then back to the motel to pack up and get ready to ride in the morning.
