Rest Day - Orange Beach AL
This morning we arose, to start our rest day. We ate breakfast in the motel and headed out to walk along the highway to a visitors center that was more than a mile from our hotel. We walked and walked and walked some more until we came to a sign that said "Visitor Center ½ mile". So we walked a little further. When we reached the visitor center they did not have the information we were looking for because all of their information was for the Alabama Ocean Shore area, not Alabama State.
We headed back to the motel except we now walked on the beach instead of the road. On the way back a very black cloud decided to sprinkle some water on us. Finally we reached the motel and returned to our room for a rest, we then walked across the street for lunch. When we returned the hotel room still had not been cleaned up so we put on our swimming suits for the first time this trip and headed out to the beach. Jim went out into the ocean far enough that the waves would splash into his face. Mary Kay stayed safe and only went into the ocean up to her knees. The water was warm and it was fun to play in the waves. We then returned to our clean motel room, washed up and walked across the street for dinner. All in all it was one of the most restful rest days we have ever had. Well except for the 4 mile walk this morning.
