Grove Hill AL
Rest Day
Today was a much needed rest day. We ate breakfast at the restaurant next door to the motel "Gloria's Pour House Café". Never have I seen a display of so many teapots, every one of the unique. We ate a total of 4 meals at this restaurant for two of them our waitress was Ruth; she even fixed a special Zucchini dish for Mary Kay tonight.
This morning we washed all our clothes at the laundry mat while Jim read his book in his bathing suit. In the afternoon with clean clothes we enjoyed a tour of the Clarke County Museum. We enjoyed the museum and learned a lot about local history. The town of Grove Hill is in the middle of decline. Many of the store fronts are empty and lots of for sale signs throughout the town.
We also spent several hours reading books and just enjoying a quiet day, trying to give the body time to recuperate. We can tell we are older then when we toured 8 years ago. Time does catch up with you but feel very grateful to be able to have the adventure we are having.
