Grenada to Cleveland MS
Distance: 54.0 Miles
The road was very flat and straight today, but we had one of those things called headwinds again. We left the motel before 7:00 and for the first 20 miles we made really good time. For the last 30+ miles we faced headwinds that slowed us down at least two to four miles per hour. The route was very flat, but the wind made the legs think we were going up hill. Our only long stop today was for lunch, although we had several short stops along the road. The problem was we had trouble finding any shade. The temperature is still hot about 91 degrees when we arrived at the motel. For most of the ride you looked over the fields of rice or beans or corn and you could see from miles. The only thing that would break up the view was the very tall trees that were along the water ways. We did pass a wildlife preserve by the Tallahatchie River.
We arrived in the motel early this afternoon. Enjoyed a rest watched TV and read until time for dinner and a called it an early night.
