Springdale to St George UT
Distance 43.2 Miles
Today was Barbara's birthday. At breakfast we gave her a card and wished her Happy Birthday. We checked out of the motel and started on our way. Scott and Barbara stopped at the Springdale Post Office and mailed a package to their home. They continued on their way and stopped to have a birthday coffee. We joined them and we all continued to travel to St George. The good news is most of the time we were going down hill traveling over 20 miles per hour. On one hill we went over 40 miles per hour. The bad news, we had a wind and a couple of times we were on a slight down hill and we could go 10 miles per hour. We also had two major long climbs where our speed was less than 5 miles per hour.
We reached St George and traveled for more than 10 miles on heavily traveled city streets with very narrow shoulders. We successfully reached our motel, checked in and got the bicycle and ourselves into our motel room. Barbara and Scott stopped to do some birthday shopping and another stop at the Post Office to mail the stuff home.
