We left Boardman around 6:45 AM riding into a strong headwind. We thought by getting up early we would miss the winds, but no luck. The only time during the day that we did not have a headwind was when we were protected from the wind by a tree or hill. Yesterday Jim had a flat tire after eating supper. He found a 3/8 inch piece of wire from a truck tire. Sometime today Jim ran over a piece of glass and cut his rear tire, resulting in two more flat tires until Jim took the tire off the rim and put a boot on the inside of the tire over the cut in the tire. So far so good. No more flats after that repair.
We did have a great view of Mt Hood as we approached The Dallas. It was in bright sunshine with a few clouds in the sky.
With the headwind and the hills we are again very tired, but we made it all the way, even with the flat tires.
