Distance 31.3 Miles

Today it was bright sunshine when we started riding our bicycle. We also had a 20 to 25 mph headwind. The road was beautiful and did not have much traffic, although it did have hills, a couple with grades in excess or 8%. We went past several mines where clay is extracted for various uses.
A half hour into our ride the sun disappeared and as we looked west we could see some very dark clouds. The weatherman assured us that today would be sunny without any rain but those clouds looked like we would have rain. As we continued on, we went past an old mill and mill pond. The mill was built in 1807.
We decided, because of the clouds, not to stop very often. As a result we arrived at our motel by 12:30 PM. Our rooms were not ready so we walked to a drug store where we bought cold medicine. I hope that this will cure Mary Kay's cough and cold. Barb and Scott soon arrived so we all walked over to a Mexican restaurant for lunch. When we returned we still had to wait a while to get into our rooms, but it was worth the wait.
Today was the slowest traveling day we have had, averaged only 10.4 miles per hour due to the winds.
