We continued to ride down the Atlantic coast. There is a lot of traffic on most of the roads because it is a favorite destination for many snow birds. Many of the snow birds that used to go to Florida are now coming to the South Carolina Coast to avoid all the hurricane problems that Florida is having. We crossed into South Carolina.
When we reached North Myrtle Beach, SC we stopped for lunch at Joe's Crab House.
George has been very good. He is having all the flat tires so Scott and I do not have any. Just as we stopped for lunch he had his second flat tire on this trip, after lunch the three ladies when on a shopping spree. George fixed the flat tire while the ladies were shopping. I was looking forward to meeting a cousin who lives in Myrtle Beach that I last saw when I was about 12 years old and I am now over 60. He is 7 years younger than I am. Therefore I got very upset by this unexpected shopping spree. Our usual 1 hour lunch lasted for more than 2 hours.
After lunch we continued to travel south entering Myrtle Beach. Changed to a road that ran alongside the ocean. Most of the time on the ocean side we found very tall condos or motels. The majority were priced in the $150 or more per night. We continued to travel south and finally found a motel just north of downtown Myrtle Beach.
I called my cousin and we arranged to meet for supper. (George and Jane visited the local grocery store and had supper in the room.) Tom had a van so we were able to ride to the restaurant in one vehicle. It was great to spend time together. We were glad that Barb and Scott were also able to meet our new relatives.
We got back to the motel about 9:00 PM and went to bed as soon as we were able to get everything ready for tomorrows ride.
