Visiting Daughter Barbara & husband Scott in West Bend WI

Left Pasco August 2 around 9:00 PM after spending the day packing, cleaning the house and all the last minute stuff. George drove clear across town to drop us at the train station. It will be a couple of weeks before we meet him in Washington DC. Amtrak had some engine trouble in Spokane so we were about 2 ½ hours late arriving in Milwaukee on Saturday. Scott and Barb met us at the station and we drove to West Bend for a good Italian dinner, we were too late to fix Jim's cell phone, so we just hope no one is trying to call him.

Sunday was a great fun day. Jim's mom came over for an excellent Brunch cooked by Scott we spent all day, eating and talking, while the guy folks worked on a neighbors bicycle and repairing Scotts Ski Boat.

Monday we tried to fix Jim's phone only to find that the replacement must be sent to Katie's house in Ohio. We spent several fun hours walking around the Wisconsin State Fair. Ate good food and saw lots of interesting things to buy and great animals to see. The sad part we did not get to see the goats.

Tuesday Barb went to work and we drove around West Bend. Jim was able to find two of the houses he lived in as a child. We then returned to Barb and Scott's house did some sewing, washing clothes and just getting ready to travel again. After an excellent supper we took a relaxing ride in Scott's boat around the lake in front of their house. What a wonderful place to live.

Wednesday morning we drove their car down to Millwaukee and parked it at the post office where Scott works. We walked the one block to the Amtrak station and took the commuter train to the Milwaukee airport and a one hour flight to Dayton to see John and Katie.
