We walked to a diner for Breakfast and it was already 74 degrees outside and foggy with the damp air. After breakfast we got the bicycles out of their private hotel room and loaded up and headed out. It was an easy drive out of Philadelphia when you consider the size of the city. We had some trouble finding the entrance to the bicycle path across the Ben Franklin Bridge. The bicycle path is about 10 feet above the car road. Once we got to the New Jersey side we had a stair case to carry the bicycle down. After several detour signs and riding on brick roads, we finally got out of town and headed down Highway 47 towards Millville.
It was hot, we stopped once for ice-cream and once for lunch, the third stop was when our front tire blew and we landed on the road. In the process Mary Kay lost one earring, and Jim his cell phone. But we appear not to be hurt, only scraped and bruises, we both are having some trouble with our feet hope there is no broken bones. We arrived in the motel, only to check in and find out that our room was with out hot water, the 2nd room the air conditioner smelled very bad, the third room was O.K. so we were able to take our showers and settle in. Jim rented a taxi, to retrace our steps to see if he could find the cell phone where we crashed. He was not successful so we will have to replace the phone.
George and Jane rode their bicycle back a couple of miles for dinner, we walked across the street to small diner and had an Italian supper. Glad we are all safe and look forward to tomorrow.
