Family Time
Virginia

Saturday morning we took two cars to Jamestown. (Bruce had 24-hour Coast Guard Duty.)

We enjoyed the tour of Jamestown while pushing Sophie in the baby stroller. After eating lunch at Jamestown, we drove the cars to the President's Park. We learned a lot about everyone of the US presidents and walked through a mock Air Force One used by Nixon through President Ragan.

The next day Bruce was home, Jane and George spent the day shopping and resting up for their cycle Monday to Richmond VA. We spent the day with Bruce, Amber and Sophie. We toured the Army Transportation Corp Museum and saw lots of interesting exhibits. We also got to drive by Sophie's day care and see where she spends her days while the parents are working. We stopped and had a good lunch on the way back home. Where the grandparents got to baby sit while the parents took in a show.

Monday we celebrated Sophie's 1st birthday a week + early. We all enjoyed a good barbeque meal prepared by Amber, and cooked on the grill by Bruce, followed by Birthday cake.

It was fun to see Sophie enjoy her first Birthday cake. She especially enjoyed the candle and singing. It was a very special family time. Bruce then delivered us and our bicycle to the motel to start the ride Tuesday morning..
