Lewes DE to Salisbury MD

The first thing we did after leaving our motel was to find an AT&T store and replace the cell phone Jim lost. After getting a new cell phone we headed on our way. George and Jane went to Rehoboth Beach to ride their bicycle on the wooden boardwalk. Jim and Mary Kay headed out on Hwy 24 to our next destination, Salisbury, MD. After 10 miles Jim and Mary Kay found themselves heading east and north. This was a very bad situation because to get to our destination we needed to be heading south and east. We later found out that we were on a road that dead ended at the ocean. We turned around and headed back the way we came, stopped at a hardware store and the man showed me where I was and where I had been.
We headed out again on highway 24 which had great shoulders for bicycling. We passed a very large chicken processing plant and suddenly the great road was being repaired and we were riding on the rough surface after the blacktop has been partially removed prior to resurfacing the road. We reached the next town and got back on a good road surface. We continued toward Salisbury and again realized that we were again lost. We changed our route again and finally got on the correct route. We were then traveling on back country roads, at one point we traveled 6 miles without seeing a vehicle on the road.
We finally reached Salisbury around 2:00 PM. Even with all of our misadventures we were very early to our destination. George and Jane arrived just before 5:00 in time to shower and walk next door for dinner. Today was also laundry day.
